The short version

We build tools to organize your travel, not to sell your data. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to data brokers or advertising networks. We study how Trip Underway is used, including session replays, to find what is confusing and fix it fast; what you type is always masked in those recordings. We may recommend travel services we trust, and if you book through those links the partner may pay us a commission, which keeps core features free. You stay in control: decline analytics cookies on this site, use your browser's Do Not Track in the product, or ask us to delete everything we have.

What we collect

Your email address, only if you submit it to join the waitlist or create an account. On these marketing pages, anonymized page analytics through our own first-party tool, only after you accept cookies. Inside the product and on shared trip pages, we record how the app is used (page views, clicks, scrolls, and session replays) through our analytics provider PostHog, because watching where people get stuck is how we make Trip Underway better every week. Replays always mask what you type, are kept for about 30 days, and are not made if your browser sends Do Not Track. Submitting the waitlist form or opening the chat always logs that single action locally to process your request.

AI assistants and the MCP connector

Trip Underway can be used from your AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT) through a connector. When you connect it, you sign in with OAuth through our shared account system and we store your email address and name from that sign-in. When your assistant calls the connector, we record the tool called and timestamps to enforce fair usage. We do not read or store your conversation with your assistant; only the specific tool request reaches us.

Our commitments

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to data brokers or advertising networks. What you type is always masked in replays. We may show recommendations for trusted third-party travel services (hotels, flights, deals) inside the app; if you choose to book through these links, the partner may pay us a commission, and we don't share your identity with partners unless you start a booking. Your email stays yours: today we only read confirmation emails you deliberately forward to your own private Trip Underway address, and when inbox-connected import arrives (connect your inbox and your flights, hotels, and deals file themselves), it will be optional, permissioned by you, limited to travel-related messages, never used for advertising, and revocable at any time.

Your controls

Decline analytics cookies on these marketing pages at any time from the banner; your choice is remembered on return visits. Turn on Do Not Track in your browser and the product will not record your sessions. Unsubscribe from the waitlist at any time via the link in any email we send. Disconnect the AI connector at any time from your assistant's settings. To see or delete your account and its data, email us and we will complete the deletion within 30 days.
